Enshrouded in the labyrinth lanes of Daraganj, stands a stunning specimen of the heritage and culture that belongs to the era bygone. The splendour of CHHOTI KOTHI has to be seen to be understood. The mysticism, ancient look and feel and the sheer aura of the architecture brings to the forefront, the epoch that it pertains to.
The geographical uniqueness of this palatial Kothi lies in the fact that it is constructed at the center of Prayag (Brahmasthan)~ the energy zone It is surreptitiously surrounded by the mesmeric temples of Nag Vasuki, Alopin Devi, Dashashvmedh and Akshayvat and at periphery of the Ganges, the most fabled river of the Hindus, and the unparalleled devotion that flows therein.
The origins of the Chhoti Kothi can be traced back to the late 18th century when it was owned by Rai Ramrikh, the grandfather of Rai Ram Kishore.
The family history finds its roots in Jeondhan, a small district in Haryana from where this family of Zamindaars & Bankers travelled down and finally found their Abode in the pious city of Prayag.
This Zamindar family has come forward to the aid of the government as well as its people; be it the Mughal rule, the British Raj, the freedom struggle and ever since it has kept alive the traditions of Zamindari, with a vision of bettering the lives of the people they touched.

History & Heritage
Along with being philanthropists, the descendents of Rai Perumal and Rai Ramrikh continued to nurture the religious and the spiritual aspect of their Hindu culture. The reverence of the Ganges, the upkeep of the various temples and trusts they created, apart from their businesses and revenue collections for the erstwhile governments are a few of the vast responsibilities shouldered by this Zamindaar family.
The title of 'Rai' being awarded to the head of the family of ‘The House of Perumall’ by His Exellency The Governor General of India on 18th July 1859, for the tantamount support to the governance of the provinces at that time and brilliance in the work done by them.
Fast forward to the 21st century, Chhoti Kothi has painstakingly held on to the roots of its origin and brings forth, the grandeur of yesteryears, woven diligently with the threads of culture and charisma that defined it.
The monumental task of bringing to the forefront, an era of the revered Zamindaars and their invaluable contribution has been a continuous and dedicated effort of present generation, who inherit the legacy and understand the value of this inheritance. It has been their outstanding endeavour to reinvent a scenario to enliven the thought process of their forefathers, to maintain the dignity, culture and the essence of what a long lost dynasty maintained in the years bygone.
